Icon-Class Cruise Ship Legend of the Seas Departs Turku for Mediterranean with Minor Delay Amid Labor Concerns

The luxury cruise ship Legend of the Seas, built at the Meyer Turku shipyard, began its maiden voyage toward the Mediterranean early Thursday morning. The vessel departed at approximately 3:15 AM, slightly later than the originally scheduled 3:00 AM, due to last-minute technical checks (Ilta-Sanomat). It is the third Icon-class cruise ship constructed in Turku and the first of its class to initially operate in European waters. Yle reports that the ship is scheduled to arrive in Cádiz, Spain, on June 25, 2026, according to MarineTraffic.
