Four people, including both adults and children, were rescued from the Salama ride at Linnanmäki amusement park on Wednesday after the attraction became stuck in its upper position. The incident occurred when the carriage halted approximately five meters above ground, leaving the passengers stranded for around half an hour before assistance arrived.

According to the rescue department, the group remained calm throughout the ordeal and did not panic while waiting for help. Fire chief Petri Strandberg (Yle) confirmed that the rescue operation involved both amusement park staff and emergency personnel, who secured the individuals with ropes and assisted them down using ladders. No injuries were reported.

The Salama ride, a rail-based attraction, stopped above another ride, with water visible below the stranded carriage. Linnanmäki staff promptly alerted emergency services, and the rescue team arrived quickly at the scene. Strandberg praised the smooth cooperation between the amusement park and rescue services, noting that both parties conduct joint emergency drills before each season to prepare for such incidents.

The cause of the malfunction remains unknown at this time. Ilta-Sanomat reports that investigations are ongoing, while Yle highlights that the situation was resolved without complications, despite the unexpected stop.
