Pikku Kakkosen Summer Tour Urges Parents to Label Children for Safety

The Pikku Kakkosen summer tour, a free event organised by the Mannerheim League for Child Welfare (MLL) and Pikku Kakkosen, is set to begin in Salo this Friday. Organisers are advising parents to label their children to prevent confusion in case a child goes missing during the event.

Tour producer Jyrki Laaksonen has requested that parents use simple methods to identify their children, such as attaching a piece of painter’s tape to their clothing with the child’s name, the parent’s name, and a contact phone number. Alternatively, a name tag can be placed in the child’s pocket. Salon Seudun Sanomat reports that Laaksonen emphasised the importance of these measures, stating that they would make it much easier to locate a missing child (Ilta-Sanomat).

In addition to labelling, parents are encouraged to take a photograph of their child just before arriving at the event. This would provide an up-to-date image to assist in locating the child if necessary (Iltalehti).

The event, titled Let’s Play Pikku Kakkosen, will take place at Sauli Niinistö Sports Park in Salo on 26 June, marking the first stop of the summer tour. According to Visit Salo, the tour will later visit Kotka, Ruokolahti, Hämeenlinna, and Kauhava (Ilta-Sanomat).

Laaksonen estimates that the event in Salo could attract between 6,000 and 8,000 visitors. Previous events have seen high attendance, with nearly 10,000 visitors recorded in Laukaa last year. The tour is not held in the Helsinki metropolitan area to avoid excessively large crowds (Iltalehti).
