Police Warn of Faulty Magtech 9mm Ammunition Batch
Finnish authorities have issued a warning about a defective batch of Magtech 9 mm Luger (9B) ammunition, which poses a serious safety risk to shooters. The Police Board states that using cartridges from the affected batch may cause firearms to malfunction, potentially leading to injury.
The faulty ammunition, identified by batch number CE0120 / L8609, has been found to carry a risk of bullets becoming lodged in the barrel when fired. If another cartridge is discharged into a blocked barrel, the firearm may break, endangering the shooter (Yle). The Police Board emphasizes that these cartridges must not be used under any circumstances.
While the Police Board reports that this batch has not been officially imported into Finland, it is possible that consumers may have purchased it abroad (Iltalehti). The German importer, Frankonia Handels GmbH & Co. KG, has issued a Europe-wide product safety notification regarding the defective ammunition (MTV Uutiset).
Authorities urge anyone in possession of the affected batch to immediately stop using it and follow any further instructions provided by the importer or local authorities.
