Russian LNG Tanker Armed with Heavy Machine Guns Spotted in Baltic Sea
A Russian liquefied natural gas (LNG) tanker, Marshal Vasilevski, has been observed sailing in the Baltic Sea with heavy machine guns mounted on its command bridge, according to an international investigative journalism collaboration involving Helsingin Sanomat and Estonian media Delfi. The vessel, owned by Russia’s state-owned energy company Gazprom, has been operating between Russia’s Bolshoy Bor LNG terminal and the strategically important exclave of Kaliningrad since October 2024 (Yle).
