Valio Cuts Milk Producer Prices as Fertiliser Costs Surge and Russian Tariffs Disrupt Supply
Finnish dairy producers are facing growing financial strain as Valio, the country’s largest dairy company, implements a second price reduction this year. From 1 July, the price Valio pays producers will drop by 3 cents per litre, bringing the base price below 50 cents per litre for many farms. The move has sparked concern among farmers, particularly those with recent investments, as rising costs—including fertiliser, fuel, and now disrupted supply chains—squeeze profitability even further.
