15-year-old detained in Jyväskylä for suspected aggravated assaults against guardian and social workers
A 15-year-old has been detained by the Central Finland District Court on suspicion of multiple serious crimes committed in Jyväskylä on 2 July. The Central Finland Police Department confirmed the detention, stating that the youth is accused of directing violence toward their guardian and two social workers during a home visit by social services at a private residence.
According to police, the youth allegedly used a bladed weapon during the incident. The charges include two counts of aggravated assault, attempted aggravated assault, and violent resistance against an official (Ilta-Sanomat; Iltalehti). The preliminary investigation is ongoing, with authorities declining to provide further details at this stage.
Iltalehti reports that charges in the case must be filed by 12 August. No additional information about the circumstances or the condition of the victims has been disclosed.
