Social Security Minister Sanni Grahn-Laasonen gives birth to third child
Social Security Minister Sanni Grahn-Laasonen (National Coalition Party, NCP) has given birth to her third child, a boy, who was born on Monday evening. She shared the news in an Instagram post on Thursday, expressing joy over the new addition to her family.
A small, lively boy arrived in the world on Monday evening. We are all doing well and are happily getting to know our little brother, Grahn-Laasonen wrote in her post (Ilta-Sanomat). She also expressed gratitude to healthcare professionals, stating that Finland is one of the safest countries in the world to be born and to give birth (Ilta-Sanomat).
Grahn-Laasonen is currently on family leave from her ministerial duties. Her temporary replacement is NCP MP and Deputy Chair Karoliina Partanen, who will serve as the acting Social Security Minister during her absence (Yle, Ilta-Sanomat).
According to Yle, Grahn-Laasonen plans to return to her role as Social Security Minister in January. She also intends to run as a candidate in the 2027 parliamentary elections next spring.
