Truck Collision on Highway 3 Leaves Passenger Car Overturned Near Hämeenlinna
Häme Police are investigating a traffic accident on Highway 3 near Iittala in Hämeenlinna, where a passenger car overturned after an evasive maneuver during an overtaking attempt. The incident occurred on Wednesday, 8 July, at approximately 11:15.
According to police, the driver of the passenger car was overtaking a maroon-colored truck when the truck suddenly moved into the left lane. This forced the car driver to brake abruptly and swerve to avoid a collision. The vehicle lost control, skidded, and ended up on its side on the roadside shoulder. MTV Uutiset reports that the truck continued toward Tampere without stopping at the scene.
The passenger car sustained severe damage in the accident. Both the driver and a passenger inside the vehicle suffered minor injuries (Yle).
