Child rescues another child from Alasen Pond in Soini
A child successfully rescued another child who had fallen into Alasen Pond in Soini on Friday morning. The incident occurred at approximately 9:00 AM, when the rescue department received an emergency call reporting a person in the water near Alajärventie (Iltalehti).
According to the rescue department, the child who performed the rescue noticed the situation and managed to pull the other child to safety before authorities arrived at the scene. The quick response prevented further escalation, as no emergency personnel had yet reached the location (Iltalehti).
Yle reports that the rescue was carried out by a bystander child who witnessed the incident and acted immediately. The rescued child was already out of the water by the time rescue services arrived.
