Dog Attack in Seinäjoki Leaves Walker Injured, Police Seek Owner
A person walking their dog in Seinäjoki was attacked by a loose dog on Wednesday evening, sustaining injuries that required immediate medical attention. The incident occurred in the wooded area of Pelipuisto Park near Ruukintie at approximately 20:45.
According to the Ostrobothnia Police Department, the victim was walking their own dog when an unknown, unleashed dog suddenly emerged from the woods and attacked. After the victim attempted to protect their pet, the attacking dog turned on them before fleeing the scene (Yle).
The dog involved in the attack is described as large, roughly the size of a Labrador Retriever, and of a dark mixed breed. While its primary color is dark or black, it may have had lighter markings (MTV Uutiset). The owner of the dog has not yet been identified.
Police are urging anyone with information about the incident, the dog, or its owner to come forward.
