Police apprehend three after high-speed chase in Helsinki

Helsinki Police detained three individuals on Friday evening following a brief but dangerous car pursuit through the city. The incident began at approximately 8:30 PM in Malminkartano, where authorities received a report of a vehicle driving suspiciously, according to the Helsinki Police Command Center (Iltalehti).

When officers attempted to stop the car, the driver refused to comply and fled, initiating a chase that ended in Oulunkylä. The pursuit concluded at the parking lot of the Oulunkylä football stadium, where the three occupants exited the vehicle and attempted to escape on foot. Police swiftly apprehended all three individuals (MTV Uutiset).

During the chase, the driver created multiple hazardous situations, including driving along a light traffic path where numerous pedestrians were present. Iltalehti reports that the vehicle’s actions posed a significant risk to public safety, though no injuries were reported in the incident.
