Serious Traffic Accident in Ylöjärvi Leaves One Critically Injured
A collision between two vehicles on Highway 65 in Ylöjärvi on Friday evening resulted in one critically injured passenger, according to the Pirkanmaa Rescue Department. The accident occurred around 18:50 when an overtaking vehicle struck the car it was attempting to pass while both were traveling in a queue toward Tampere.
MTV Uutiset reports that the overtaking vehicle swerved off the road after the impact, plunging into a deep ditch on the left side of the road before colliding with trees. The vehicle contained two occupants: the driver, who sustained minor injuries and was able to exit the car independently, and a passenger, who was seriously injured. Rescue crews had to dismantle parts of the vehicle to free the passenger.
Ilta-Sanomat states that three rescue units responded to the scene. Both injured individuals were transported to Acuta for further medical treatment. The Pirkanmaa Rescue Department confirmed the incident but has not released further details on the cause of the accident or the identities of those involved.
