New Suspected Rape Reported on Viking Grace Cruise Ship
The Southwest Finland Police are investigating a suspected rape on the cruise ship Viking Grace, which occurred during a voyage arriving at the Port of Turku on Monday, 13 July. MTV Uutiset reports that the police have confirmed the case is being treated as a suspected rape but have not provided further details at this stage.
The Viking Grace, operated by Viking Line, sails between Turku and Stockholm. The police have not disclosed additional information about the incident, including the identities or nationalities of those involved.
This is not the first time the Viking Grace has been linked to serious criminal allegations. In October 2025, four men were detained upon returning to Finland from Sweden on the same vessel, suspected of aggravated rape. Ilta-Sanomat reports that a trial began in late June in the District Court of Southwest Finland, where three men are accused of aggravated rape of a woman in her twenties. The alleged crime took place in a cabin on the ship on 18 October 2025.
The police have not indicated whether the two cases are connected. No further comments have been provided on the ongoing investigations.
