Man in his seventies drowns after boat capsizes in Huittinen

A man in his seventies drowned on Wednesday after his boat capsized in Pyhällys, Huittinen. The Emergency Response Centre received a report of the incident at 14:20, stating that one person had gone underwater following the boat’s overturning (Ilta-Sanomat).

According to police, the man fell from the boat and ended up in the water without a life jacket. He sank underwater and was pronounced dead upon discovery (MTV Uutiset). Multiple units from the rescue department, emergency medical services, and police were dispatched to the scene (Iltalehti).

Authorities do not suspect criminal activity in the case. The investigation will proceed as a cause-of-death inquiry (MTV Uutiset).
