Fatal ATV Accident in Kuusamo Claims One Life
A man in his 60s died in an ATV accident in Kuusamo on Monday morning, according to authorities. The incident occurred shortly after 8:00 AM in the Rukatunturi area, where the victim was operating the vehicle as part of his work duties.
The Oulu Police Department reports that the man became trapped under the overturned ATV. Emergency services, including police, rescue personnel, and medical teams, responded to the scene. The North Ostrobothnia Rescue Department assisted in extricating the victim, but he was pronounced dead at the site (Yle).
The police are investigating the case as both a death inquiry and a workplace accident (Helsingin Sanomat). The accident took place on Pikkumäentie in Rukatunturi, where the ATV overturned during operation (MTV Uutiset).
