Person drowns at swimming beach in Soini
A person drowned on Wednesday evening at a swimming beach in Soini, South Ostrobothnia. The incident occurred shortly after 9:30 PM, when emergency services received an alert about a person in the water near Alasentie Road (Ilta-Sanomat; Iltalehti).
Rescue Chief Ville Kultalahti from the South Ostrobothnia Rescue Department confirmed that bystanders had pulled the individual from the water onto the shore. Despite attempts at resuscitation, the person could not be revived.
