Chancellor of Justice raises concerns over clarity of Stea grant decree
The Chancellor of Justice has found the draft decree on Stea grants for social and health organizations to be largely ambiguous, with several points remaining unclear. Yle reports that the preparatory documents do not specify whether Minister of Social Affairs and Health Wille Rydman (Finns Party) could bypass the decree with his own criteria for awarding grants.
The controversy stems from Rydman’s announcement in June outlining new grant criteria, which prompted Prime Minister Petteri Orpo to order an amendment to the decree. The changes have created tension among the governing coalition parties (MTV Uutiset).
