Motorcyclist injured in moose collision on Highway 4 near Pyhäjärvi
A motorcyclist was injured in a collision with a moose on Friday afternoon on Highway 4 near Pyhäjärvi, North Ostrobothnia. Emergency services, including a fire brigade unit, police, and a medical helicopter, were dispatched to the scene.
The North Ostrobothnia Rescue Department’s situation center reported that the accident occurred between Maaselkä and Hyvösenmäki. One lane of the highway was closed, with traffic directed through the remaining lane. Yle reports that the motorcyclist was transported for further treatment.
The rescue department received the emergency call at approximately 15:45 (Ilta-Sanomat). According to Ilta-Sanomat, emergency services had left the scene by around 17:00, and traffic conditions on Highway 4 were returning to normal.
