Large-Scale Police Operation in Klaukkala After Reports of Gunshot and Broken Glass

A significant police operation unfolded in Klaukkala, Nurmijärvi, on Saturday following an emergency call reporting a sound resembling a gunshot and breaking glass in an apartment building stairwell.

The Eastern Uusimaa Police received the alert at 12:39, prompting a rapid response. Multiple police units were dispatched to Luhtajoentie, where officers conducted a thorough inspection of the building (Ilta-Sanomat). The operation concluded around 2:30 PM, with authorities confirming no evidence of a firearm discharge.

Police chief commissioner Max Eriksson stated that only broken glass was found in the stairwell, with no signs of impact or other suspicious activity. "Nothing else was found there except broken glass in the stairwell. No signs of impact were discovered. We were able to confirm that no firearm had been discharged," Eriksson told Ilta-Sanomat.

A crime report has been filed under the classification of criminal damage (Ilta-Sanomat).

Several residents and bystanders contacted media outlets, including Iltalehti, with tips about the incident. While a broken window was observed at the scene, no further indications of a shooting were identified (Iltalehti).
