Finland’s Aalto Works Inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage List as Finland’s Eighth Site
Finland’s Aalto Works series, comprising 13 architectural sites designed by Alvar, Aino, and Elissa Aalto, has been officially added to UNESCO’s World Heritage List. The decision was made on July 26 during the 48th session of the World Heritage Committee in Busan, South Korea (Ilta-Sanomat, Yle, Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture). The inscription marks Finland’s eighth World Heritage Site and its seventh cultural site, joining landmarks such as Suomenlinna (1991), Old Rauma (1991), and the Kvarken Archipelago (2006) (Ilta-Sanomat, Finnish Ministry of Education and Culture).
