Shooting Incident in Alavus Leaves No Injuries, Police Detain Four

Police are investigating a shooting incident that took place in Alavus during the night between Sunday and Monday, following a dispute that escalated between two groups. No one was injured in the incident, though authorities suspect assaults occurred at a private residence.

The chain of events began shortly before midnight at a restaurant in Lehtimäki, where three men argued with two other men and a woman. After the group of three men left the premises, the other group continued making threats over the phone, according to preliminary police reports (Yle).

The situation escalated at a private residence in Töysä, where the emergency center received a report of the incident at 00:55. Police confirmed that at least one shot was fired inside the residence, though none of those present were harmed (Iltalehti). In addition to the shooting, authorities suspect assaults took place at the scene.

Patrols located all individuals involved, detaining three men and one woman. Two legally owned handguns were confiscated from the scene (Yle). The suspects were found both at the residence and in a car that had left the area (Ilta-Sanomat).

The case is being investigated as endangerment, illegal threats, aggravated violation of domestic peace, and assaults (Iltalehti). Police continue their preliminary investigation to clarify the sequence of events leading to the incident. Further details are expected to be released no earlier than Monday.
