Armed Robber Targets Two K-Markets in Eastern Finland
Police in Eastern Finland are seeking public assistance in identifying a man who robbed two K-Market stores in the Savo region on Thursday, 9 July. The suspect, described as approximately 175 centimetres tall and slim, threatened cashiers with a bladed weapon in both incidents.
The first robbery attempt occurred at around 17:10 at K-Market Hummer on Kylätie in Rantasalmi. The man, dressed in dark clothing, demanded money from the cash register but fled without taking any cash after the cashier resisted. Surveillance footage shows the suspect wearing a dark blue Puma-branded hoodie with white stripes on the sleeves and a large white logo on the front. He had his hood up, sunglasses on, and a scarf covering his face. Witnesses reported seeing him leave the store and cross the road (Ilta-Sanomat).
Approximately an hour and a half later, at 18:40, the same man robbed K-Market Hernemäki on Pihlajavedentie in Savonlinna. This time, he succeeded in taking money from the cash register. The suspect’s appearance matched the description from the earlier incident, including the distinctive Puma hoodie (Iltalehti).
Police have released surveillance images of the suspect from both locations and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
