Major Fire Erupts in Mäntsälä Industrial Area
A significant fire has engulfed an industrial building in Mäntsälä, prompting a large-scale emergency response. The Central Uusimaa Rescue Department received an alert at approximately 12:50 PM, with the incident located on Päivärinnepolku (also referred to as Päivärinne Road).
The affected area hosts several businesses, including car dealerships, repair shops, and a pet supply store (Ilta-Sanomat). The fire has consumed a two-story building at the site, with extinguishing efforts still ongoing. Nearly 20 rescue units—including 17 reported by Yle—have been deployed to tackle the blaze.
No injuries have been reported at this stage, according to the Central Uusimaa Rescue Department (Ilta-Sanomat). However, authorities have issued a hazard warning for the area around Mäntsälä town center due to thick smoke. Residents are advised to close ventilation systems and remain indoors if necessary.
