Memorial service held for Yle’s former editor-in-chief Panu Pokkinen

A memorial service for Panu Pokkinen, the former editor-in-chief of Yle News, was held today at Töölö Church in Helsinki.

Pokkinen, who passed away on 8 July at the age of 49, died as a result of cardiac arrest. Yle reports that he had been set to take up the role of editor-in-chief of Yle News in autumn 2024. Before that, he served as the head of Yle Sports and as the director of the Sports and Events unit.

Iltalehti also confirmed the details of the service, noting that it took place at Töölö Church.
