A man born in the 1990s has confessed to slashing the tires of approximately 30 cars in Raahe’s Kummati area since spring, according to the Oulu Police. The vandalism spree, which began earlier this year, targeted parked vehicles, with some cars suffering damage to multiple tires.

The police apprehended the suspect in July following a combination of received tips and their own investigations (Iltalehti). The man told authorities that the noise from the cars had disturbed him, prompting the acts of vandalism (Ilta-Sanomat).

Reports of the tire slashings first emerged in the spring, with residents in the Kummati area filing numerous complaints (Yle). The Oulu Police confirmed that the total number of affected vehicles reached around 30, with varying degrees of damage (Yle, Iltalehti). No further details about the suspect’s identity or potential charges have been disclosed.
