Elderly man found drowned in Puulavesi, Hirvensalmi
An elderly man was found deceased in Puulavesi, Hirvensalmi, on Thursday afternoon following a rescue operation. The incident occurred near the southern side of Puukonsaari, where authorities discovered an empty small motorboat drifting in the water.
According to the Eastern Finland Police Department, the man was located a few hundred meters from the boat and was not wearing a life jacket (Yle). The police and rescue services were alerted shortly after 5:00 PM, with the emergency call logged at 17:06 (Ilta-Sanomat). The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
