Luxury Yacht *Life Saga*, Formerly Linked to Russian Oligarch, Docks in Helsinki
A 65-meter luxury yacht, the Life Saga, has drawn attention at Helsinki’s Katajanokka pier since its arrival on Wednesday evening. The vessel, previously owned by Russian oligarch Gennadi Aivazyan, is now under American ownership, though the current owners’ identities remain undisclosed.
The Life Saga was built in Italy by Admiral Yachts and completed in 2019 (Boat International). It ranks 429th on the list of the world’s largest yachts (SuperYacht Times) and accommodates 12 passengers alongside a crew of 15 to 17 (Iltalehti, SuperYacht Times). The yacht’s amenities include a sauna, gym, swimming pools, and a private bar (Admiral Yachts).
Before arriving in Helsinki, the Life Saga was anchored in Tallinn, as reported by Estonian newspaper Postimees on Tuesday. A crew member told Iltalehti that the American owners are currently exploring the city and plan to continue their journey to other Finnish destinations and Stockholm.
The yacht’s estimated value is nearly €44 million, with annual upkeep costs exceeding €4 million (Iltalehti). It sails under the Cayman Islands flag (Marine Traffic).
Connection to Russian Oligarch
The Life Saga was previously owned by Gennadi Aivazyan, a Russian businessman with an estimated wealth of $500 million (SuperYacht Fan). Aivazyan co-founded the KruTrade Group, one of Russia’s largest coal exporters, before merging it with Cypriot parent company Alinos Enterprises in 2011 (Reuters). In recent years, he has shifted his focus to medical technology and artificial intelligence (Iltalehti). The yacht was sold to an American couple in 2025 (Postimees, SuperYacht Fan).
