Two Teenagers Killed in High-Speed Crash in Kaarina
A serious traffic accident in Kaarina early Friday morning resulted in the deaths of two teenagers. The incident occurred on Makarlantie in Piikkiö when a passenger car departed from the road and collided with the bridge pillars of the Turku Ring Road, according to police reports.
The victims, aged 15 and 18, were the only occupants of the vehicle and died at the scene from injuries sustained in the crash. Iltalehti reports that preliminary investigations suggest the car was traveling at a significant speed before the driver lost control. The police were alerted to the accident at approximately 6:30 a.m. by a passing motorist, as no eyewitnesses to the crash itself have been identified (Helsingin Sanomat).
