Multi-Vehicle Collision on Highway 3 in Lempäälä Injures Ten
A serious traffic accident involving three cars and ten people occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning on Highway 3 in Lempäälä. The incident took place near exit 35, the Lempäälä grade-separated interchange, on the lanes heading toward Tampere.
Ilta-Sanomat reports that the collision began when one vehicle struck the rear of another. The impact caused the vehicles to cross the central reservation, entering the opposite lanes heading toward Helsinki, where they collided with a third car. All ten individuals involved were able to leave their vehicles and undergo initial medical assessments at the scene under their own power.
The Pirkanmaa Rescue Department confirmed that the vehicles sustained significant damage, rendering them undrivable and requiring towing (Ilta-Sanomat, MTV Uutiset). No further details on the extent of injuries or the cause of the accident have been released.
