Driver in Seinäjoki hit-and-run accident contacts police
The driver of a white Volvo SUV involved in a collision with an underage cyclist in Seinäjoki has come forward, according to authorities. The incident occurred on 23 July at approximately 17:30 on Ruukintie, near the Kivistö S-Market.
Ilta-Sanomat reports that the cyclist, a girl, was crossing an intersection on a green light when the SUV struck her, throwing her from her bicycle. Two individuals—a man and a woman—were in the vehicle at the time. They stopped briefly but left the scene without providing their contact details.
The Pohjanmaa Police Department had previously appealed for the driver or any witnesses to come forward. MTV Uutiset states that the driver later contacted authorities, and police have expressed gratitude to those who provided tips. The investigation is ongoing.
