Former MP Ano Turtiainen and wife charged with aggravated financial crimes and incitement, trial date set
Former Member of Parliament Ano Turtiainen and his wife Minna Turtiainen face charges for aggravated financial crimes, with prosecutors alleging offenses committed in Juva between 1 July 2018 and 30 June 2020. Helsingin Sanomat reports that Ano Turtiainen is charged with aggravated accounting fraud, while his wife faces charges of aggravated accounting fraud and aggravated debtor dishonesty, with the latter offense occurring between 1 July 2019 and 21 April 2022 (Iltalehti). The trial is scheduled to take place on 19 November at the Mikkeli District Court (Iltalehti). In addition to the financial crime allegations, Turtiainen has also been charged with incitement against a national group (Yle).
