Tampere arsonist sentenced to five years in prison for endangering dozens in apartment fire
A 24-year-old woman has been sentenced to five years in prison for starting a fire in an apartment building in Tampere’s Tammela district last September, which forced the evacuation of over 40 residents and caused extensive damage. The Pirkanmaa District Court convicted Anni Eliisa Pieski of aggravated destruction of property, ruling that her actions placed dozens of lives at risk. The court initially considered a six-year sentence but reduced it by one year due to Pieski’s cooperation with the investigation (Ilta-Sanomat).
