Finnish Industrial Output Sees Broad Growth in June

Finnish industrial sectors experienced widespread growth in June, with increases in orders, production, and turnover compared to both the previous year and the previous month, according to data from Statistics Finland.

The value of new orders across industry rose by 16.6% year-on-year in June, while working-day adjusted turnover increased by 13.5%, and production grew by 4.5% (Yle). Seasonally adjusted industrial output also grew by 2.1% from May, with working-day adjusted output up by 4.5% compared to June 2025 (Daily Finland).

Sector-Specific Trends

The metal industry saw the strongest growth in new orders, with a 25% increase compared to June of the previous year (Yle). Production in the electricity, gas, heating, and air conditioning sector surged by 7% from May, the highest monthly growth among all industries (Daily Finland). Other notable monthly increases included the electrical and electronics industry (6.1%) and the metal industry (3.8%).

The forest industry, mining and quarrying, and the chemical industry also recorded modest monthly output growth of 2.0%, 1.1%, and 0.8%, respectively (Daily Finland). However, the chemical industry was an outlier in terms of orders, with a 25% decline compared to the previous year (Yle).

The only sector to see a decline in June was the food industry, where output fell by 3.5% from May (Daily Finland).
