Disruptions in Capital Region Train Traffic Due to Switch Failure
Train services in the capital region are experiencing disruptions on Wednesday morning due to a switch failure on the railway. The disruptions primarily affect trains K, I, and P, with deviations from normal schedules and some cancellations reported.
Helsingin Seudun Liikenne (HSL) states that the fault was detected early in the morning and is expected to be repaired by 10:00 AM. Earlier estimates suggested the issue would be resolved by 9:00 AM (Yle). Passengers may experience delays of five to ten minutes, and individual cancellations are possible (Yle).
Trains I and P operate between Helsinki and the airport via the Ring Rail Line, passing through Tikkurila and Myyrmäki, while the K train runs between Helsinki and Kerava (Ilta-Sanomat). HSL advises that schedule deviations may continue until 8:30 AM (Ilta-Sanomat).
