Finnish Foreign Minister Visits Åland to Discuss Security and Economic Cooperation
Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen is visiting Åland today to meet with the autonomous region’s leadership and discuss pressing security and economic issues. The visit, part of a broader engagement with Åland’s government, includes discussions on regional stability and export promotion.
Valtonen will meet with Åland’s Premier Katrin Sjögren to address the security situation in Finland, the Baltic Sea, Europe, and the Middle East, as well as efforts to boost exports and integrate Business Finland initiatives in the region (Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs). The Foreign Minister will also engage with members of the Åland Government, along with representatives from the police and the Border Guard (Yle).
During her visit, Valtonen is scheduled to tour the headquarters of Crosskey Banking Solutions Ab Ltd in Mariehamn (Finnish Ministry for Foreign Affairs).
This visit follows an upcoming trip by President Alexander Stubb, who is set to travel to Åland next Monday with his spouse, Suzanne Innes-Stubb (Yle).
