Young Woman Rescued from Lahti Overpass After Bystanders Intervene
A dramatic rescue unfolded in Lahti on Tuesday evening after a young woman was found hanging from the railing of the Holma–Kymijärvi road overpass. According to Häme Police, quick-thinking bystanders prevented what could have been a life-threatening fall.
The incident occurred when passersby noticed the woman in distress and acted swiftly to assist. They stopped a van beneath the overpass, allowing the woman to drop onto the vehicle’s roof. Police officers at the scene then transferred her to an awaiting ambulance (Iltalehti).
Häme Police confirmed that the woman was saved from at least serious injury due to the intervention. In a public bulletin, authorities expressed gratitude to the individuals who stepped in to help (MTV Uutiset; Iltalehti).
