Two children injured in separate traffic accidents in Western Uusimaa
Two children were injured in separate traffic accidents in Western Uusimaa on Thursday morning, as police report multiple incidents involving drivers and schoolchildren near pedestrian crossings.
In Karkkila, a child riding a bicycle was struck by a driver at a pedestrian crossing shortly after 8:00 AM. The impact threw the child several meters through the air, resulting in injuries that required hospital treatment (Helsingin Sanomat, Ilta-Sanomat). The second accident occurred in Lohja just before 8:00 AM, where a driver collided with a child crossing a pedestrian crossing on a kick scooter.
