A violent incident on Alppikatu in Helsinki on Thursday afternoon resulted in one person being injured, according to authorities. The Helsinki Police Department received a report of the suspected aggravated assault at 12:52 PM (Ilta-Sanomat).

The victim, whose condition is not life-threatening, was assaulted indoors, though the act did not occur on the premises of the nearby Finnish Diakonia College (Iltalehti). Police confirmed that the situation posed no immediate danger to bystanders, though the operation remained ongoing as of after 2:00 PM (Ilta-Sanomat).

Shortly after the report, emergency services arrived at the scene. Nizar Tunc, a witness who contacted Iltalehti, described seeing police enter the building with protective shields and equipment at around 12:55 PM. Approximately five minutes later, officers exited the premises (Iltalehti).
