Israeli Citizen Found Dead at Luhanka Shooting Range; Embassy Arranges Repatriation
An Israeli citizen was found dead on Tuesday, 11 August, near the Luhanka shooting range in Central Finland. The man, who was on a cycling trip in Finland, had pitched his tent in a shelter at the site, likely due to poor weather conditions, according to police. Ilta-Sanomat reports that the Embassy of Israel in Finland is aware of the case and has been in close contact with Finnish authorities and the deceased’s next of kin. Deputy Chief of Mission Dalia Frenckel stated that the embassy is working to ensure the deceased can be transferred to Israel for burial in accordance with Jewish traditions and requirements (Ilta-Sanomat).
