Hit-and-Run Incident in Porvoo Leaves 16-Year-Old Cyclist Injured
Police in East Uusimaa are appealing for witnesses following a traffic accident in Porvoo on 14 August, in which a 16-year-old cyclist was struck by a car on a pedestrian crossing. The incident occurred near the K-Supermarket in the Tarmola district, along a route parallel to Mannerheiminkatu, at approximately 15:30.
According to the police bulletin, the collision took place in the area of Asentajantie and Veckjärventie. The driver of the vehicle stopped briefly to check on the cyclist’s condition but then left the scene without providing further assistance or identifying themselves (Iltalehti).
The East Uusimaa Police are urging the driver involved to come forward and report to the authorities to clarify the circumstances of the accident.
