A passenger car caught fire in broad daylight in the Lommila district of Espoo on Saturday afternoon. The Western Uusimaa Rescue Department responded to the incident at 1:30 PM, extinguishing the blaze without significant disruption to traffic (Iltalehti).

The fire occurred near the junction of Ring Road III, close to Bemböle, where the vehicle was fully destroyed. Despite the dramatic nature of the incident, no personal injuries were reported. Iltalehti states that the car was rendered unusable by the fire.

According to Ilta-Sanomat, the smoke from the fire was visible from a distance, drawing attention from passersby. Multiple drivers shared videos of the incident with the publication. The Rescue Department confirmed that only the driver was in the vehicle at the time, escaping without serious harm.

The cause of the fire remains unknown, with the Rescue Department stating it has no immediate information or position on the matter (Iltalehti, Ilta-Sanomat). Firefighting efforts proceeded normally, and traffic disruptions were minimal.
