Man Drowns at Märynummi Swimming Beach in Salo
A man drowned on Sunday at Märynummi swimming beach in Salo, Southwest Finland, after submerging underwater while playing in the water with a child. The incident occurred in an area where the water is approximately two meters deep (Yle).
Bystanders witnessed the event, and a firefighter from a nearby Volunteer Fire Brigade (VPK) station successfully pulled the man from the water. Despite resuscitation efforts, the man was declared dead at the scene, according to the police (Yle, Iltalehti).
