Police Warn of Small Cannabis-Containing E-Cigarettes Circulating Among Youth

Police in the West Uusimaa region have reported an increase in the use of cannabis-containing e-cigarette products among young people. Authorities have encountered the phenomenon during preventive operations and patrols at youth meeting places, where such devices have been confiscated on multiple occasions (Ilta-Sanomat, Iltalehti).

The confiscated vapes are notably small, with some nearly the size of an AA battery or comparable to a lighter. According to police, their compact design makes them easy to conceal, including in clothing (Ilta-Sanomat). This has raised concerns about the accessibility and discreet nature of the products.

Police urge guardians and adults to intervene if they suspect a young person is in possession of intoxicants. Authorities recommend having a serious conversation with the child and seeking support if needed. Parents can turn to local police anchor teams or social and health services for assistance (Iltalehti).

The products are reportedly being purchased through peer networks. Police have seized illegal e-cigarette items intended for sale to minors, highlighting the need for vigilance (Ilta-Sanomat).
