Traffic Accident on Turunväylä Causes Lane Closure and Congestion
A rear-end collision involving three passenger cars occurred on Thursday afternoon on Turunväylä (Highway 1) between the Ämmänsuo junction in Espoo and the Veikkola junction in Kirkkonummi. The incident was reported to emergency services shortly after 4:00 PM, according to the Western Uusimaa Rescue Department (Iltalehti).
No personal injuries were reported as a result of the accident, as confirmed by both the Western Uusimaa Rescue Department and Fintraffic (Ilta-Sanomat). Six rescue units were dispatched to the scene to manage the situation (Iltalehti).
One of the two lanes on the highway was closed to facilitate rescue and clearance operations, leading to traffic congestion in the area.
