Laura Huhtasaari, a prominent Finns Party Member of Parliament from Satakunta, will not seek re-election in the 2027 parliamentary elections, citing personal reasons. Satakunnan Kansa (via Länsi-Suomi) reports that Huhtasaari, currently serving her third term, will leave parliamentary work after the current electoral period concludes. Her departure is described as a "major loss" for the Finns Party in the region, with constituency chair Jouko Lindstedt telling Yle that her decision was unexpected and leaves a significant gap to fill (Yle).
