Elisa, one of Finland’s major telecommunications providers, is currently facing significant service disruptions affecting multiple customer services. The issues began on Tuesday morning, with the first reports emerging around 10:30, according to monitoring service Downdetector (Yle).

By shortly before midday, approximately 360 users had reported problems with Elisa’s services (Yle). The number of disturbance reports surged notably after 10:30, with 239 issues logged by 12:10 (MTV Uutiset).

Elisa confirmed the disruption in a statement on its Facebook page, attributing the fault to an unforeseen incident during change work that began at 10:34. The company initially reported that call traffic was partially blocked for subscriptions using the standalone 5G network, though this issue has since been resolved. Elisa clarified that its 2G and 4G networks, as well as data traffic on the 5G network, remained operational throughout the disruption (MTV Uutiset).

Ongoing Issues and Affected Services

The disruption continues to impact several of Elisa’s digital services. According to the company, customers may experience problems with Elisa Viihde (its streaming platform), the online store, and the OmaElisa self-service portal. Elisa has stated that repairs are underway to restore full functionality (MTV Uutiset).
