Three Fatal Traffic Accidents in Central Finland and Ostrobothnia: Police Suspect Crimes in Two Cases, Locals Call for Road Safety Improvements
A serious traffic accident on Highway 9 between Jyväskylä and Laukaa has resulted in one fatality. The collision occurred after midday on Tuesday near the stretch between Leppälahti (Jyväskylä) and Metsolahti (Laukaa), according to Fintraffic’s traffic management center (Yle). The accident involved a truck and a passenger car, as confirmed by Markus Moilanen, the on-duty fire chief from the Central Finland Rescue Department (Yle). The driver of the car, a man in his 40s who was alone in the vehicle, died at the scene (Daily Finland). Yle reports that police suspect the approximately 50-year-old passenger car driver of gross endangerment of traffic safety, while the truck driver is not suspected of a crime.
