Prime Minister’s Office Appoints New Communications Leadership

The Prime Minister’s Office has appointed Päivi Anttikoski as Communications Director of its newly established Communications Unit. Anttikoski will transition from her current role as Media Director at SOK, where she has been responsible for corporate communications. She previously served as Communications Director at the Prime Minister’s Office from 2018 to 2021 (Yle, MTV Uutiset).

Niina Hyrsky has been named Deputy Communications Director, moving from her position as Communications Director at the Ministry of Defence, a role she has held since 2018. A second deputy director will be appointed at a later stage (Yle).

The appointments are fixed-term, with a maximum duration of five years, and will take effect at the beginning of July or as agreed upon. The new unit will oversee strategic communications for the Prime Minister’s Office.
