Finnish Man Dies Aboard Tallink Silja’s MyStar Vessel After Medical Incident
A Finnish man died on Tuesday evening aboard Tallink Silja Line’s MyStar ferry following a medical emergency. The incident occurred after the vessel arrived in Helsinki at 9:30 PM, with the passenger found unconscious in his car on the ship’s car deck.
Tallink Silja Line’s Communications Director Marika Nöjd confirmed the details to Ilta-Sanomat, stating that the crew immediately began resuscitation efforts upon discovering the man. Multiple ambulances were dispatched to the scene, and emergency responders continued life-saving measures. Despite these efforts, the man was pronounced dead. The ambulances departed the vessel at 10:16 PM (Ilta-Sanomat, Iltalehti).
The Helsinki Police Command Center confirmed to Iltalehti that the incident does not involve any criminal activity. The deceased has been described as an elderly man in both Ilta-Sanomat and Iltalehti reports.
